Power Poppy with Sympathy
This digital stamp Every things Rosy is from Power Poppy. I downloaded it on cryogen white text weight and colored it with Copic makers. I trimmed it to fit this 6x6 card and used a Sue Wilson border die to finish the bottom.

Ruffled orchids with Sympathy
This new digital image from Power Poppy is just gorgeous and fun to work with. I printed it off on cryogen white shimmer paper in text weight and colored it with copics. I cut it out with a spellbinders die and edged it with a silver pen. I rounded all the corners and then used a sissex corner punch and rounded the corner off on it as well. Added a saying and some bling to finish the card. the card is 5x7

Power Poppy sympathy card
This gorgeous Azalea stamp is from the new Power Poppy stamp company. Marcella designs the most gorgeous flower stamps around and they are a delight to color. I used some pretty background paper, spellbinders Elegant ovals to cut out the shape and colored the images with copics. I edged and lightly sponged tumbled glass distress ink around the oval and image. I added some pretty purple ribbon and a peel off gold saying to finish the card.

Sympathy
I made this card for a friend today. I used several of the papers from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection. The butterfly is from the medium exotic collection from Cheery Lynn. The pretty flower and leaves are also from Cheery Lynn's rose leaves and Daisy strip. I added a peel off saying to finish the card.

Cheery Lynn anything goes
Anything goes with a Cheery Lynn die this week. I used lots of Cheery Lynn dies on this card. I started out with two classic circles inside each other for the wreath and then covered it with dimensional leaves set 2. I then added several of the iris leaves and olive branches and flourish leaf strip. Flowers were made with the miniature rose strip and cuties 2 and the butterflies are exotic butterflies small. To finish the card I added some baby's breath and dried flowers from Michaels and gold pearls and border. I'm also using this card for the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge of dies or punches

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Bird challenge
Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card today for our previous minister. His mom passed away this week. I tried to keep this somewhat masculine which is really hard for me but I think this will be ok. Our challenge on Flourishes blog is to use birds on our card so this worked out great. This branch and bird are from the Home tweet home collection. I stamped in memento rich cocoa and colored with copics. I used spellbinders scalloped square with labels 15 behind it. I edged everything with a gold pen and used an EK punch for the corners. I added some bling and a peel off sentiment to finish the card.

Just Rite color challenge #2
This is another card for the pretty color challenge at Just Rite.
I just received this new gorgeous with sympathy set of clear sets. I used a spellbinders oval to cut out the image and then used the matching JR die cut for the border. The sentiment is stamped on a scalloped long oval from Spellbinders and K&Co paper was used for the saying and the background. Copics used for the flower and leaves, BG72 and I made my own lighter version of that number by mixing some refill ink and blender together. Leaves are YG63.

Stamping in time, Sentiment
Our challenge on Our Daily Bread Design is to use your favorite sentiment or make a card with a sentiment on it. Unfortunately I need a sympathy card today for a friend, her mom died very suddenly. I love this cross set from ODBD and it works so well with the spellbinders cross die cuts. I embossed it in gold and then antiqued it with old paper distressed ink. The sentiment is from The Heartfelt Sympathy set.
I embossed it in gold and used the oval spellbinders behind both the image and sentiment. I added a leaf flourish from Cheery Lynn designs and the gorgeous paper is something new, fabric on paper, the texture is fantastic and it's so pretty. I got the paper at JoAnn's. It's from DCWV and it's adhesive fabric. Be sure to check out the fantastic creations on the ODBD blog.

Sweet Stamps, Sympathy
I tried several pictures of this card to get the color correct, the ribbon actually matches much better than this. Our challenge at Sweet stamps was to make a sympathy card which is always very easy for me as I need lots of them in this elderly community we live in. I think these new Marianne Designables cut and emboss folders are perfect for so many things. They are available from Sweet stamps as is the saying. She has a lot of very nice vertical sayings which are hard to find. Check out the design teams cards, I know for a lot of you sympathy is a hard card to make. I used the coordinations paper and sanded the embossed part a little bit to bring out the core color. Gold mirror card is behind the embossed cut outs and the saying.

A week of reflection

This has been a difficult week and a week of reflection on what's important in life. This beautiful young women died this week after lying in a coma for the past 13+ years. She was only 34 but had celebrated her 21st birthday a little too much and a tragic accident occured on her way home that night. My heart goes out to her parents and what they have gone through over these past years. I have 25 and 26 year old sons and as frustrated as I can get sometimes when they don't take care of things on "my time schedule" LOL I had to stop and think how lucky I am to have them alive, and healthy. My Mother's day present from them was having them here on Thursday and they did all kinds of wonderful things for me, like cleaning out the garage and lifting and carrying lots of heavy things up and down the steps etc for me. It was a wonderful day and of course it meant lots of free food and leftovers for them to take home and have for the next couple of weeks. It was a time to count my blessings and try to remember what's important in the whole scheme of things. Happy Mother's day to all of you!!
