Tribute to Joe Nathan

I made this card for two reasons, Our Daily Bread Design challenge is black and white and it's a sympathy card for Suma Nathan. Joe Nathan was a icon in scenic stamping and product review for years and years, he will be greatly missed by the stamping world.  I used the lesson from Becca's Amazing Paper Grace blog to make the 5x7 card with a top hinge.  I used the beautiful spellbinders Resplendent rectangles for the shape of the card and the center pieces.  The saying is from the With Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set from ODBD and the inside image (see below)  is from the Quiet Waters stamp set, all from ODBD.

Cheery Lynn die cut flowers

I made this card for the die cut flowers challenge on Cheery Lynn.  I started this 5x7 card with soft raspberry card and soft yellow that I used the poinsettia embossing plate on.  Now I know I need to get some more embossing plates but this one works well with any of the flowers.   I used the miniature, medium, and large rose die strips for the flowers,  Under the flowers I used the rose leaf strip, olive branches and mini fanciful flourish.  The beautiful oval is the Swedish spring oval. and I added some gems around around it with a gold peel off for the sentiment.   The pretty corners are lace corner deco F.  All dies are from Cheery Lynn Designs. Be sure to check out the fabulous dies and design team creations

Happy Birthday Jan Marie

Happy birthday to Jan Marie and thank you so much for starting this fabulous stamp company!!!  I made this card for Jan Marie's birthday at Flourishes.  I used the beautiful Old fashioned floral stamp, and colored it with copics. I backed this pretty flower oval with a Sentiment Frame #2 from Cheery Lynn, then I used the  perfectly pierced Victorian oval from Flourishes. I added that to the
Swedish Spring oval from Cheery Lynn. I used some printed vellum from my stash for the background and added some lace, ribbon and gems and flower to the side.  I cut 1.5" squares for the corners and then cut them diagonally and used a Martha Stewart punch on the edges.  I added some feathers and gems to finish this card.

Cheery Lynn

I have the honor of being Cheery Lynn's guest designer today for the Frame it challenge. I made the card with the silver oval stacker  and then used the same die for the plaid paper background.  This gorgeous oval Doily Stacker was used for the frame with a silver stacker for the cut out. The beautiful daffodil flower is from Flourishes Signs of Spring set. I colored it with copics RV52 and RV63 and added lots of stickles for the white. I stamped and colored just the flower and had cut it out and pop dotted it for dimension.   I used the  fanciful flourish, olive branch, flourish leaf strip for the greenery. I added a bow and some pearls to finish the card.

Our Daily Bread's secret admirer

This weeks challenge on Our Daily Bread Design choose someone's card and recreate it.  I chose this gorgeous card by Grace to recreate. (See below)  I didn't have that darling lamb to use so I used The Mighty Sea stamp instead.  I colored it with copics and distressed ink, trimmed it to fit inside the frame I created with the two largest sizes from Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles.  I added the cute fence inside and then used some olive branches and pine branch  from Cheery Lynn.  A prima flower finished this card.

Flourishes Love Sweet Love

The challenge on Flourishes is a sketch this week.  I used the
Love Sweet Love stamp set for this card.  I stamped the image on a Spellbinders label 6 and colored it with copic markers. RV52, R89, Y02, YG03.  I distressed the edges with a gold pen and some Victorian velvet distressed ink.  I used a piece of valentine paper from my stash and the right side is a valentine cuttlebug on light pink cardstock and then I antiqued it with the Victorian velvet.  I added some ribbon, peel off borders and and some bling to finish the card.

Cheery Lynn Flourishes

I made this card for the "flourishes" challenge over at Cheery Lynn.    I started this card with a 6x6 teal cardstock, added a piece of pretty paper from my stash and then added some Cheery Lynn dies.  The corner die is the Victorian Romance Flourish.  I love that die, it's so elegant.  I added a Fanciful Flourish coming out from the corner and then a  Mini Fanciful Flourish to the side.   The beautiful flowers are iridescence metallic foil, they are teal or purple depending on which way you hold them under the light.  They are made with the three rose strips,  miniature, medium and large.   I finished the card with a gold peel off border.  Be sure to check out the Cheery Lynn blog, join in the fun to win a gift certificate to purchase some of these gorgeous dies.

Just Rite Botanical Medallions & Banners

I love the clear stamps and flowers from Just Rite, this  Botanical Medallions and Banner set is so versatile.  You can use it for just about anything.  I started this 5x7 card with just a white card, layered the cuttlebug background over it and I used orchid ink on the inside of the cuttlebug to color the background.  I stamped the gorgeous hydrangea on a scalloped heart from Spellbinders and used the straight heart behind it.  The pretty butterfly is from Cheery Lynn and I added a ribbon and couple of the gems to finish the card.

Or Daily Bread Design, LOVE

The challenge on ODBD is Love, with pink or red on the card.  This is a 6x6 card and I taped some gorgeous adhesive fabric scrapbook paper from JoAnn's to a piece of cardstock and ran it through the vagabond with a Cheery Lynn Heartland back plate heart.  I stamped the cat from the cat sympathy set and colored the image with copic markers and used linen distressed ink around it make it match the background of the fabric. This set is so versatile, not just for sympathy.  My inspiration for this heart cut out comes from Linda's works of heart.     I just added some peel off borders, prima flower, feathers and leaf to finish this card.
