Snowflakes and more snowflakes

I just got this pretty paper from Bo Bunny and the entire pad is gorgeous! I played with my snowflakes dies from Spellbinders and Our daily bread design. I added the background and ran ribbon through it for faux stitiching for the Split Coast technique this week. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that you have a safe week if you live on the East coast!!

Prayers go up, Blessings come down

Our challenge today on Our daily bread design is to make a sentiment the focal point. This is from their new set Blessings. Our challenge on Stampin Sisters in Christ is encouragement. I think this wonderful saying fits the bill for both challenges. I used my newest dies from Cheery Lynn by dies direct and a spellbinders for the design paper.  Some ribbon and bling and gold leafing pen to finish.

Some children see him

Our challenge this week on Split Coasts Dirty Dozen interactive was to use a musical theme. I chose my favorite carol, Some Children See him, this is on an old Andy Williams CD and I love it. It says how different children in different parts of the world see Jesus and baby Jesus.  The image is from Our daily bread and I used my new dies from Dies Direct and Cherry Lynn.  After my friend Sandy straightened me out, I was able to cut the card design with these dies, under $30 for a whole set and this card is about 5x7!!!  Did you know for about $25 per year you can be a paid member of Split Coast and get lots of extra benefits that the nonpaid members don't see.  check it out!!!!! I want to thank the DD team on SCS for all the fabulous inspiration and ideas we get each month for this magnificent bunch of gals.

Crafty secrets "seeing red"

Our challenge today over at Split Coast Crafty Secrets forum was to use red on our card. I just got this new set from CS and I think she is adorable. I stamped her in memento black ink, colored with copics and then used Spica pens over the red and green, puffy white paint from Michaels with prisma glitter over it. I took a MS fern and leaf punch used some stickles on them and added a prima flower. The ribbon is from my stash and I used the same scattered straw distress ink on it that I used around the image. Paper is from last year, not sure who made it but I think it's K&Co.  Check out the forum on Split Coast, we always have a lot of fun and fabulous ideas to share.

Photo inspiration for Our Daily Bread Design

This is the photo that I used for my inspiration this week. For my card I used the poinsettia set that matches the spellbinders dies, some gold mirror card thru the cuttlebug and some holographic paper. A flower and leaf on the corner with some holographic peel off borders. Check out all the wonderful cards over at ODBD.

A special thank you

I saw this technique on someone's blog the other day, of course I thought I saved the email so I could give you a link and her the credit. I will try and find it later.  This is a piece of foil and DP from an old Christmas pack of paper. I took the foil, ran it through the cuttlebug and then used copic various refills and sponged the color on it. Blotted it, used versamark over the whole thing and embossed it in clear.  I added the stamp from Flourishes and colored with several blue copic markers. Added the bling and saying over the spellbinders tag.  I'm using this for several challenges including Flourishes food or drink, TLC303 sponging.

Mark's finest papers Red and Green

Hop over to Mark's finest papers and check out the wonderful cards.  This image was colored with copic markers and flower soft. some DP from Hobby Lobby and gems.

Our Daily Bread Designs sketch

I used the sketch this week from ODBD blog challenge.  Their bird fit perfectly in this oval and the papers are from we R memories from my local store.  Spellbinders die cuts and I found matching ribbon at Michaels.  I colored the bird with copics BG10, 18, 72 added some E13 and G24 to the flowers or weeds.  The glittered oval is a chipboard from a pack at Michaels called AC Christmas glitter but they are more like chipboard, very thick and heavy, I had to run the die through several times to cut it.  Thanks for stopping and have a great week.

Flourishes and Midnight Madness Christmas

I made this very white and pale pink card for the Winter white and the flower but not a poinsettia challenges for Flourishes.    The DT have some gorgeous creations on their blog for your inspiration so check them out.  The sketch is from Priscilla's midnight madness 84.  They have all the December sketch's up for us this month so we can make them ahead of time which is wonderful!!! The DT on Midnight madness are always over the top on creativity so make sure you stop over there also.  I used the beauitful paper white flowers from Flourishes, added a touch of pale pink and some green for the stems, the centers of the flowers have some cotton candy pink stickles and the outer edges are frosted lace stickles.  Gold leafing pen, I took a very pale pink chalk ink pad and touched lightly over the dot background and snowflakes just for hint of pink, lots of glittered pearls and gems from Michaels. The soft pink ribbon is silk and 1/2 inch wide.

Celebrate in Style

I needed a birthday card this week and I took a lot of "artistic liberty" with several of the challenges this week.  This is a new stamp set from Flourishes and this is the small version of the flower, Paper whites, I had never heard of these before and they are so pretty.  I used a very light touch of colors to match the DP on this and a blue green for the stems.  The beautiful DP is from Memory keepers, Merry January twig.  My local store had some solid to match this.  I used the spellbinders Labels 17 and the Stampin up top note die for these. Some flowers colored with my copic markers to match and ribbon and peel offs for the corners. The saying is an old one from Morning star stamps.  I'm entering this in the Priscilla's midnight madness challenge also and Stampin Sisters in Christ.

Christmas Thank you

So many people do such nice things at the holidays, our challenge today for Stampin Sisters in Christ was to be thankful and Our daily bread design was to make a Christmas card. I have lots of regular cards done already for the holidays so I decided to make a Christmas thank you. I"m donating lots of cards next week for the Christmas walk in our town to be sold for the Chamber of Commerce. The image is from ODBD and the saying is Hero Arts. I embossed the images in gold, used copics to color, you have to be very careful, they melt the embossing powder and smear it so gold works pretty good, black does NOT. I cut out another of the flower and popped it on top.  Gold holographic borders from Pop up templates to trim this in.

Beautiful french horn, Mark's finest papers

This pretty image is from Mark's finest papers, I love it and their service is wonderful.  Faith always has gorgeous cards to look at and wonderful ideas. I used this side step card with some pretty papers from Little Yellow Bicyle company, red bow from Michaels, the trees are puffy ribbon from my local store and the peel offs are from Pop up templates. I'm making this for Faith's challenge to use a circle on your card.  spellbinders circle and I cut out the music image by hand.

Stampin Sisters in Christ simple and jazzed, Dirty Dozen's well read

Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge was to make a simple card and then jazz it up more. I have chosen this Rubber Cottage image of an old Santa. I used a frame paper from K&Co and then some Anna Griffin holly, removed the bottom holly and used some bling from Michaels Christmas section on the second one. Cuttlebug snowflake folder behind him.  Copper peel off borders.  I'm also using this image for the Dirty Dozen challenge, "well read" not sure what book this is from but I know there are lots of the old world Christmas books out there.

Midnight madness and Our daily bread designs new snowflake

I love this snowflake from Our daily bread design, the stamp and die really work perfectly together. The sketch is from
Priscilla's midnight madness blog.   I white embossed the snowflake and then used the die to cut it out. The paper is from K&Co and I used the cuttlebug background on white and then slid a red ink pad over it to highlight the snowflakes on there. Some bling from Michaels Anna Griffin's collection for the holly and berries and some cute little red cardinals to finish the card.

I spent the weekend helping some gals learn scenic stamping. We had a great time and unfortunately the snowy scene does not show well. I should have used glue that dried white not clear.

Flourishes Blue challenge and Stampin Sisters in Christ weather challenge

Our challenge on Flourishes blog was to use Blue. I chose their angel stamp which they are brining back this year by popular demand. Cuttlebug embossing folder for the holly and Spellbinders circle dies. Gold leafing pen with some ribbon from Michaels and poinsettias from Belle Fleur by Prima and leaves are from Micheals also.  I gold embossed her and colored with copics very carefully so they don't melt the embossing powder.  Be sure to check out the gorgeous DT cards on their blog. I'm also using this for the Stamping sisters in Christ challenge this week of snow or weather related.  There are a few snowflakes around the angel.  They also have some gorgeous DT cards on their blog. Timeless Tuesday Shabby Chic

Flourishes has some gorgeous cards today with a link to beautiful images for inspiration. I chose to blend many of them together beause they didn't have a lot of holiday ones. This image I'm calling the Christmas rose, colored with copics, the shape is from their matching stamps with spellbinders labels. I used a prima rose and pearls to embellish it and the paper is from Prima's Annalee collection. These papers are just gorgeous and they come in 6x6.
